Settings overview
Settings has three groups: things about you, things about the firm, and help. Everyone sees their own settings; only Administrators see and change the firm's.
Open Settings from the gear at the top right. On a computer the sections are listed down the left; on a phone they are a row of pills along the top.
| Group | Section | Who |
|---|---|---|
| You | Profile | Everyone |
| You | Notifications | Everyone (firm-wide switches: Administrators) |
| Firm | Set up your firm | Administrators |
| Firm | Firm details | Administrators |
| Firm | Banking | Administrators |
| Firm | Invoicing | Administrators |
| Firm | Numbering | Administrators |
| Firm | Lists | Administrators |
| Firm | Data export | Administrators |
| More | Members, Support, What's new, About | Everyone (Members: Administrators) |
Firm sections carry a small Admin tag. If someone who isn't an Administrator opens a link to one, Caseo shows their Profile instead.
How saving works
- Firm details, Banking, Invoicing and Numbering are forms. As soon as you change something, a bar appears: Unsaved changes · Discard · Save. Nothing changes for the firm until you click Save.
- If you try to leave with unsaved changes (another section, another page, Back or closing the tab), Caseo asks whether to save or discard them.
- Switches and lists (Notifications, Lists, the logo) save the moment you change them.
Profile
| Field | What it does | When to change it |
|---|---|---|
| Name, Email, Role | How you appear in Caseo and the email you sign in with. Read-only here; an Administrator changes them on the Members page. | Ask an Administrator if your name or role is wrong. |
| Sign-in and devices | Manage sign-in and devices opens your account security: change your password, turn on 2-step verification, and see and sign out the devices signed in to your account. | When you get a new phone, lose a device, or want 2-step verification. |
| Your recent sessions | Your last ten sessions: the day, start and end times and the device (for example "Chrome · Mac"). This is exactly what Administrators can see about your use of Caseo. No IP addresses are stored. | Check it if you don't recognise a device. |
What's new
Release notes for Caseo, tagged New, Improved or Fixed, with the version you're on. An amber dot on your initials means there's something you haven't read; opening What's new marks it all read.
About
The Caseo version you're running, how to reach support (Help & support in the account menu, or hello@caseo.co.za), and links to the Privacy Policy and Terms.
Help and support
Help & support (in the account menu under your initials) opens a form: choose Something's broken, How do I…?, Idea, Billing or My data, add a subject, details and up to five screenshots (crop out client information first). Caseo attaches the page you were on, the version and your browser, and gives you a reference like SUP-0001. Your requests lists your tickets and whether each is Open, In progress or Resolved.
Something unclear or out of date? Email hello@caseo.co.za.
