Search and filters
Caseo's search and filters understand plain words. Type what you'd say to a colleague, like "unpaid invoices last month", and Caseo works out what you mean.
Universal search
Press ⌘K (Mac) or Ctrl+K (Windows), or / when you're not typing, or click the search icon at the top. Search covers matters, clients, diary entries, notes and your team; Supervisors and Administrators also search transactions, invoices, expenses and payroll.
Search runs instantly as you type. It tolerates typos in longer words, and knows some everyday words for legal ones: "car" finds motor vehicle matters, "fired" finds dismissals, "vs" means against. A strong single match appears as a card at the top: press Enter to open it. Recent searches are remembered, but never ID or phone numbers.

Filters on each page
Matters, Clients, Diary, Transactions and Client Portal each have a filter bar. Type a sentence and press Enter: the words Caseo recognises become chips, and anything else stays as search text.

Suggestion chips
Next to Try under each filter bar are ready-made filters. On Matters: My active matters, Opened this month, Opened this year, Closed with money in trust, Closed not finalised, Overdue diary, Prescription within 90 days, No activity in 60 days and Money in trust. On Clients: Money in trust, No ID number, Added this month, Third-party payer, No matters. On the Diary: Mine, Overdue, This week, Next 14 days, Done this month.
Editing chips
- Click a chip to change it; click × to remove it.
- Add filter lists every field you can filter on, phrased as questions.
- Backspace in an empty box removes the last chip; Esc clears the text.
Saving and sharing filters
Click Save as template to keep a filter. Give it a name, choose whether to include the search text, and tick Share with the firm to let everyone use it. Templates can be renamed, pinned first, shared or deleted; only the person who made one can change it, and an Administrator can delete a shared one.
Filters are part of the page address, so you can also copy the link and send it to a colleague: they'll see the same list.
