FICA records
Caseo keeps a FICA record for each client so you can see at a glance who has been verified and screened, and when each client is due for review.
Open a client's or matter's FICA section for a summary, and Full record for the FICA page, which lists every record with filters by status. The FICA page is for Supervisors and Administrators.
Starting a record
Click Start FICA Check, pick the client and an initial risk rating (Low, Medium or High).
What a record holds
| Status | Where the client stands. Starts as Pending; update it as the checks are completed, or mark the record Expired when a review falls due. |
| Risk rating | Low, Medium or High, according to your firm's risk management programme. |
| ID verified | Whether identity has been verified, and the date. |
| PEP screened | Whether the client was screened as a politically exposed person, the date and the result. |
| Sanctions screened | The result of sanctions screening. |
| Next review date | When the client is due for review. |
| Notes | Anything else, such as which documents were seen. |
Caseo records the checks your firm does; it doesn't perform screening itself or connect to a screening provider, and statuses don't change automatically. What your firm must do under FICA is covered on the compliance page.
